A business associated with the New Jersey Devils agreed to fix Newark's municipal ice risk through the Adopt-a-Park program – but the city paid for it.
A spokesperson for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, which owns the New Jersey Devils, said conversations are being had about possibly introducing "vaccinated sections" at the team's home venue.
Based on a similar event staged in recent years in Pittsburgh, Thursday's "Cool Down for Warmth" on Championship Plaza at the Prudential Center will raise money to provide utility assistance grants to New Jersey families in need.
Next month, during one of their games at the Prudential Center, the New Jersey Devils will host a Monmouth County-based organization committed to raising awareness about a random chromosomal disorder that affects one out of every 2,000 women.
