An attorney said the operator of the NJ Transit RiverLine train that hit a tree on the tracks, was among the many operators and conductors who reported for years the trees were "troublesome" and needed attention.
The train with 45 passengers on board as it headed south through Mansfield around 6 a.m., according NJ Transit spokesman John Chartier. The operator was trapped inside and pronounced dead at the scene.
