George Martin, the Beatles' urbane producer who guided, assisted and stood aside through the band's swift, historic transformation from rowdy club act to musical and cultural revolutionaries, has died, his management said Wednesday. He was 90.

September 23rd 1968 - The Beatles recorded a new John Lennon song ‘Happiness Is A Warm Gun In Your Hand’ while working on their next album. The title of the song comes from the cover of a gun magazine that their producer, George Martin, had showed to John.
