The memory of James Volpe, who was killed in a 2011 car accident at the age of 17, is honored in the form of a foundation that bears his name, now preparing for its first major annual event of the year.

For the 14th year in a row, the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey will prepare for its signature fundraiser, the Concert for Kids, to be held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark on Thursday, Dec. 1.

Caiti Brown was 18 when bone cancer claimed her life. Her sister used her Sweet 16 bash to raise $40,000 for the nonprofit organization that helped their family cope with Brown's illness.

For the fifth straight year, the James Volpe Foundation will sponsor a Golf Classic in its namesake's memory, to be held this June 20 at Pine Barrens Golf Club in Jackson.

For a Jackson nonprofit with several successful summer events, planning an "offseason" fundraiser seemed like the next logical step.

Some people go to great lengths to help others. In the case of DJ Andy Chase on 105.7 The Hawk, this involves living on top of a billboard for a week. Every year our sister station, 105.7 the Hawk raises money for the Ocean County charity, Ocean of Love Foundation...

Dennis and Judi wanted to spread the word about the 'Toast to Marie' fundraiser at River Rock Marina Bar & Restaurant.

A few weeks ago a NJ 101.5 listener called into the Dennis and Judi Show and asked Dennis if he would shave his head for St. Baldrick's.  Not only has Dennis agreed to shave his head, but  a few other NJ 101.5 staffers may also shave their heads for St. Baldrick's.
