When you think 'New York's Best Hot Dogs' its time to look Upstate, not to New York City.

The winter of 2024 is more than half over and officials in New York are already getting plans going for the summer.

The tar balls were first found at Seven Presidents Park in Long Branch and in Monmouth Beach on Nov. 27 with similar oil debris found on the shoreline in Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The Coast Guard in a statement said response crews have removed approximately 1,000 pounds of tar balls and oiled debris from impacted beaches between Asbury Park and Sea Bright.

The Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster and some other famed New York amusements may be shuttered for the busy July Fourth holiday as engineers check a 275-foot-tall observation tower that was swaying.
