The man accused of setting the Jan. 12 fire in downtown Bound Brook has been denied bail.

The residents live in houses and apartments in an area considered to be in a "collapse zone" if the building's remains were to come down and cause considerable damage.

The suspect was spotted on video walking near the fire scene before two under construction apartment buildings went up in flames.

No injuries were reported in the blaze that spread to at least four other adjacent buildings and forced the evacuation of over 100 residents.

The flames quickly engulfed two buildings Sunday night.

Police said 2 people who said they were passengers of the burned out Jeep in Bound Brook are accounted for, but no-one has come forward as the driver.

The 73-year-old Warners were near retiring after decades of running a business together, their daughter said.

Investigators found discrepancies between statements from the Keough family and neighbors.
