Many in the Garden State may not realize the season lasts through Nov. 30, but the upcoming 10-year anniversary of the onslaught of Superstorm Sandy may serve as a reminder to some.
AAA Mid-Atlantic's Tuesday update showed the average price for a gallon of regular in the Garden State is $3.18, 99 cents higher than this week in 2020.
As far as what's "normal," NOAA's definition of that itself is changing. Now, an average season will be defined as having 14 named storms, seven of which become hurricanes.
The first named storm of Atlantic season, Andrea, has formed over the Gulf of Mexico and was likely to bring wet weather to parts of Florida's west coast by the end of the week.
