Search for missing man with Alzheimer’s widens through Central Jersey

An Alzheimer's patient last seen in Howell Township early Tuesday afternoon was the object of an ever-widening search.

Howell and Lakewood Township police were asking residents to stay on the lookout for Amnon Malhi, 80, who they say was staying with family in Lakewood and is unfamiiliar with the area.

According to police, he is likely driving a 2008 white Hyundai, bearing New Jersey license plates WVU23D.

The car doesn't belong to him, police say. It is a random vehicle with which he left a Walmart lot at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, heading in an unknown direction, police said.
