New Jersey State Police have ended their underwater search for a police officer who went missing on his boat in the ocean.

Troopers using boats and aircraft are continuing a surface search for Jason Sill on Thursday.

State Police Lt. Stephen Jones says searchers used sonar over a grid off Wildwood and found no signs of the man.

The Middle Township patrolman, who lives in Cape May, was last seen in his boat around 11 a.m. Monday. But an hour later, another boater reported finding his boat unoccupied.
