EATONTOWN - A boy is being treated for a collapsed lung after he was stabbed when a fight broke out at Monmouth Mall Saturday night, police said Sunday.

Eatontown Police said they responded to a report of a fight at 9:12 p.m. and found a male juvenile with a stab wound. The child was taken was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment, police said. The Lakewood Scoop reported the teen is 14 years old.

"Mall management is working closely with the Eatontown Police Department. Mall security responded to the incident immediately along with onsite uniformed police, and stores in the immediate vicinity were briefly closed. We wish the victim a speedy recovery, and the mall is open as scheduled today," reads a statement from mall spokesman James Yolles.

Eatontown Police asked anyone who witnessed the incident to call 732-542-0100.
