No threat found after Picatinny Arsenal shutdown Friday
ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a suspicious vehicle stopped at a security checkpoint at a New Jersey arsenal has been deemed to pose no explosive threat.
Security personnel noticed something suspicious about a truck that tried to enter through the truck gate, according to a statement on the facility's Facebook page. They treated the situation as an "explosive threat." Local, state and federal agencies were notified and no one was allowed to enter the Aresnal property.
All 5,000 employees were sent home at 1:45 p.m.
Route 15, which passes in front of the facility, remained closed in both directions.
