Authorities have released photos of two unidentified men considered "persons of interest" in the slaying of an off-duty Newark police detective who was gunned down during a robbery in Paterson.

But no arrests have been made in the death of Detective Michael Morgan.

Officials say the 32-year-old Morgan was walking a dancer from a gentleman's club to her car when they were confronted by an armed robber early Monday. Morgan was then shot once in the torso after he reached for his weapon, which was found under his body.

Morgan had just been promoted from the Newark Police Department's narcotics and gang unit to the special investigations unit.

He was not married and did not have children.  Authorities have posted a $25,000 reward for information leading to Morgan's killer.
