A federal judge sentenced Donald J. Jones III to life plus 10 years on Monday.

The 48-year-old Pemberton, N.J., resident was convicted last May of interstate travel to engage in sex acts with a minor, attempted aggravated sexual abuse, enticement and distribution of child pornography.

Federal authorities say Jones corresponded in 2011 with federal agents posing as the eight-year-old and her father. He also allegedly emailed them images of child pornography.

Jones was arrested after he took a bus to Providence to meet the girl.

Authorities in New Jersey say Jones was convicted in 1993 of sex crimes against a child.
