Peanut contamination prompts recall of beef and chicken by NJ company

If you have a peanut allergy, be aware that Gourmet Kitchen Inc., declared a nationwide recall of 16,722 pounds of beef and chicken appetizers on Saturday.

The Neptune based company said 16 of its products marked "EST 18450" or "EST 18450 P" contained undeclared peanuts from a possibly contaminated paprika seasoning. The food was sold between Oct. 15, 2014 and March 2, 2015.

While the company and the Food Safety and Inspection Service have yet to receive any reports of medical issues related to the recall, you can air on the side of caution by clicking here to see the list of foods affected.
