New Jersey 101.5 staffers name their diner menu favorites
There's a new museum in Piscataway devoted to New Jersey's diner history, and we couldn't help but salivate over the thought of our most beloved meals on air.
Some caller favorites were liver and onions, spinach pie, and scrapple. Variations of grilled cheese (Happy Waitress, swiss on rye, etc.) were popular, and the patty melt got plenty of mentions, too.
Check out New Jersey 101.5 staff favorites and share yours in the comments section below. Apparently I need to try disco fries!

My go-to meals are meatloaf and an open-faced turkey sandwich. I've had a plate of disco fries for dinner before, too.

As much as I love a good diner breakfast, my favorite diner meal has to be chicken fingers with honey mustard sauce.

My favorite is a diner classic: disco fries! Or to translate, fries with brown gravy and mozzarella cheese.

I think diners were made for breakfast. I like two eggs over easy with wheat toast, and either bacon, scrapple, or hash browns (depending on my mood). If it’s lunchtime, soup is a standard choice. And for dinner, a gyro from a real Greek diner is a must.

A California burger. Lettuce, tomato, mayo, and onion, with fries. Or, I'll do a Greek omelet with spinach, feta, and a side of mushroom.

Can’t go wrong with California cheeseburger after the bar closes. And if you can score some onion rings- not just fries- you’ve hit the jackpot.

“Grilled cheese and fries is always a good go-to meal. Grilled cheese or salad.”
