NJ trooper injured in Route 78 crash in Warren Township

WARREN TOWNSHIP — State Police say a trooper has been injured in a "serious" crash on Interstate 78.

Police said the accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes in Warren Township.

Details about the trooper's injuries were not immediately known and the trooper's name was not released.

It wasn't clear if any other vehicles were involved in the accident or what may have caused it.

Authorities say all eastbound lanes of the highway were closed in the area after the crash. Traffic backups of up to two miles were being reported.
