TRENTON —  The ongoing digout for many North Jersey towns on Wednesday plus the threat of a "flash freeze" prompted some districts to delay or cancel classes on Wednesday.

Gov. Chris Christie lifted the state of emergency late Tuesday afternoon. All government offices will be open.

New Jersey 101.5 Meteorologist Dan Zarrow is concerned about temperatures dropping into the upper teens and lower 20s overnight. That will turn slushy surfaces into ice even where the storm was mostly rain.

"Add a glaze of ice on just about every surface, and you have the perfect excuse to exercise extreme caution through Wednesday morning," Zarrow said.
