LIVINGSTON — Authorities have accused an 18-year-old Bergen County man with making online posts threatening to “shoot up” Livingston High School.

John Coulouris, of Hackensack, was charged with invasion of privacy, terroristic threats, and two counts of cyber harassment.

He also was charged with a count of endangering the welfare of a child by distributing child pornography.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said Coulouris was arrested at home Monday night.

Prosecutors say he posted the threats Sept. 6.

The threats came in the form of Facebook messages from a female who said she had been bullied at the school.

Police deemed the postings not credible, but the violent messages left the community on edge and many students skipped classes as a result.

He was being held Tuesday at the Essex County Correctional Facility with bail set at $175,000 with no 10 percent option.

If found guilty, he could face five to 10 years in prison.

Anyone with more information should contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
