CLINTON TOWNSHIP — A man with an extensive record of drug and burglary arrests was charged with possessing bombs and hollow-point bullets in his home.
Jeffrey Werch, 34, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by police, who had obtained a warrant to search his home.
Police said they found two pipe bombs and the bullets. State Police was called to search the home with a bomb-sniffing dog.
The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office did not say why Werch allegedly had the explosives.
Werch was being held Friday at Somerset County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
Prosecutors did not release a booking photo of Werch.
