AUDUBON — A high school senior football player with Down syndrome has gone on the run of his life.

Audubon High School's Michael Arechavala scored a 65-yard touchdown on a kick return at the start of his school's Thanksgiving Day win over Haddon Township High School.

He gave two thumbs up and says it felt good to run the touchdown back at the beginning of Audubon's 45-6 win.

Audubon coach Dominic Koehl told the Courier-Post that Arechavala is a hardworking kid who's been looked at as another member of the team. Koehl says coaches came up with the idea of letting him run back the kickoff as a way to pay respect to him for all of his hard work.

His mother, Donna, says it was a dream come true for her son.
