Murder Charge in Manchester Mobile Home Park Slaying

Murder charges have been filed against a neighbor of an elderly man found dead last month at an Ocean County mobile home park.

Bail was set Wednesday at $3 million for 54-year-old Alan Bienkowski, who faces up to life in prison if convicted. Bienkowski is currently jailed in Monmouth County on an unrelated murder charge.

Bienkowski is charged in the death of 76-year-old Anthony Verdicchio, whose body was found May 13 in his trailer at the Pine Acres Manor Mobile Home Park in Manchester Township. An autopsy determined that he suffered multiple blunt force trauma to his head and face.

A motive for the slaying has not been disclosed.

Verdicchio was last seen alive at a church service they day before his body was found.
