The game never got started. No makeup date was immediately announced.

The postponement means the Nationals won't have to call up a starter for Saturday's game to take Stephen Strasburg's spot. Thursday's starter, Gio Gonzalez, will be moved back to Friday's series opener against Minnesota -- weather from Tropical Storm Andrea permitting -- and Nathan Karns gets pushed from Friday to Saturday.

Shaun Marcum, scheduled to start for the Mets, gets moved to Saturday's home game vs. Miami instead. Matt Harvey remains the starter for Friday's series opener against the Marlins, although heavy rain is also forecast for the New York area.
