UPPER SADDLE RIVER — A New York man arrested twice in the same hour "guaranteed" more police officers were going to die, police say.

Police said that Shane Burris was arrested the first time at 10:30 a.m. along with his brother after a dispute on Route 17 at Industrial Avenue, police said. Officers responded to the area and pulled over a Jeep being driven by Whitney Burris, 26, with Shane Burris,  in the passenger seat, police said.

But Whitney Burris, 26, tried to run — and when police caught up to him, he was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction, and possession of a weapon, police said.

Shane Burris was arrested for allegedly having 12 bags of heroin and released on his own recognizance, police said.

An hour later Shane Burris turned up at Lions Park, and threatened to punch two teen boys in the face unless a 15-year-old turned over his phone, according to police. Officers charged Shane Burris with robbery, endangering the welfare of a minor and making terroristic threats.

During questioning about the second incident on Saturday, police said in a statement, Shane Burris threatened the life of an officer and said, "I guarantee more cops are going to die.”

He was charged with making a terroristic threat and taken to the Bergen County Jail, where is is being held pending $75,000 bail.

Five Dallas police officers were shot and killed last week at a protest over recent police shootings of black men. Authorities have said they believe the shooter, who was killed Friday morning, had sophisticated plans to cause more bloodshed, and they're not yet convinced he was working alone.
