The Press of Atlantic City reports that about 200 people attended Tuesday's hour-long service for David McAuliffe, which was held at a Somers Point church.

McAuliffe was alone on his Sea Tow boat, the Cape Hatteras, when it sank off the Great Egg Harbor Inlet on April 23. His body was found May 1 by Ocean City municipal workers who were doing cleanup work on the beach.

An autopsy determined that the 34-year-old McAuliffe died of accidental drowning.

The cause of the sinking remains under investigation.
