The Times of Trenton reports the 29-year-old Frenchtown woman appeared to be uninjured but was taken to a hospital for an evaluation. Her name hasn't been released.

Authorities say it's unclear who the woman was arguing with Tuesday or what it was about. She apparently left her home, ran a few hundred yards down a nearby bike path and entered the river.

The woman's mother called police, who began a river search and soon found her. The woman became combative and noncompliant when the firefighter approached her, but he was able to physically control her and safely remove her from the river.
