Two Elizabeth school district employees say the FBI has questioned them.

The pair filed a lawsuit two weeks ago seeking to halt the district's investigation to learn who may have been responsible for leaking confidential records related to the school lunch program.

The two told The Star-Ledger of Newark they were asked a wide range of questions about the district.

Neither is named in the suit because they fear retribution. A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney would neither confirm nor deny whether a federal investigation is under way.

School officials would not say if they have received federal subpoenas.

The state in September charged Elizabeth school board president Marie Munn and two others in connection with defrauding the National School Lunch Program.
