I've explained many times on the air and on this page why I'm a Philadelphia Flyers fan. I've been watching them since I was a kid, long before the Devils came to be, and they practice and play within a half hour from my house.

This past Wednesday, my daughter flew in a day early and surprised me for my birthday, giving me two great gifts. One was I didn't have to pick her up on Thanksgiving Day at the airport like I thought I was going to do, and the other was a pair of tickets to a Flyers game!

Of course the fact that I had her for an extra day over the holiday was the best gift, but going to the game with her on Black Friday like we used to do when my kids were younger was so nice. She pick good seats at center ice but upstairs where the Flyers fans get a little...um let's say overly enthusiastic in a primitive sort of way. So I scouted out better seats that were empty by the end of the first period and we snuck into them for the beginning of the second period.

We had also made a mental note about other great seats for the beginning of the third period, so we would be right near where the Flyers are shooting. Both moves worked out without incident and nobody got hurt.

Our team lost but I don't know when I've enjoyed a live hockey game more, because I was with my baby girl!
