New Jersey's U.S. Attorney has charged Richard Genao with one count of sexual exploitation of a child.

Prosecutors allege the 51-year-old Carlstadt man and his now-deceased partner videotaped and photographed themselves engaging in sex acts with the victim, who was born in 1995.

According to court papers, Genao and his partner befriended the special needs teen while living in Bayonne. Investigators claim that on one videotape, Genao turns the camera on himself to clear the lens while videotaping the teen taking a shower.

A message left for Genao's attorney on Wednesday was not immediately returned.

Genao is detained without bail. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
