New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg revealed details about the shooting at the Empire State Building today.

Bloomberg identified the shooter as 53-year-old Jeffrey Johnson of Manhattan who had worked at Hazan Imports inside the building for six years before being laid off a year ago. A construction worked identified Jeffrey Johnson to police.

Jeffrey Johnson opened fire on police after he had shot his unidentified 41 year old female victim in the head in some kind of dispute about his employment at Hazan. Police shot Johnson in the head.

Police have recovered the .45 caliber shotgun used by Jeffrey Johnson.

No children were injured in the shooting, says Bloomberg; the 2 women and 7 men injured were all middle aged. The entire shooting took place outside the building.
