As chief meteorologist, my mission is to provide the most honest, accurate weather forecasts possible. I grew up in Jackson, where my weather obsession earned me the nickname "Weatherman Dan." I earned my atmospheric science degree from Cornell University. My career as a TV meteorologist included stops in Oklahoma, in Central New York and at News 12 New Jersey. I've also done research and programming work for the Northeast Regional Climate Center and NJ State Climate Office. I am proud to hold the American Meteorological Society's prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation. I live in Union County with my wife, Amy, and young sons, Jackson, Griffin, and Nathan. Things I love: family, wine, storm chasing, Broadway musicals and Disney World.

Wednesday NJ weather: There’s actually a rain chance in the forecast
It'll be our first storm system in almost two weeks; but don't expect much, as late Friday's precipitation is looking light and showery.
Tuesday NJ weather: Brighter skies and a little warmup on the way
This quiet weather won't necessarily end with a "bang," but there is a storm system and chance of rain/snow aiming for New Jersey at the end of the week.
Monday NJ weather: Welcome to ‘the dead of winter’
Quiet, dry, seasonable weather will continue for a few more days, although we do have some subtle changes coming by the end of the week.
Friday NJ weather: Quiet and chilly, no active weather for another week
It feels eerie that our weather is so persistently quiet through the first half of January, but winter is far from over.
Thursday NJ weather: No weather concerns through early next week
A storm system will pass well south of New Jersey on Friday, and could spit some clouds, raindrops, and snowflakes our way.
Wednesday NJ weather: Quiet and seasonably cold, blah, blah, blah
For the record, I am not complaining about this uneventful, near-normal, easy weather forecast.
Tuesday NJ weather: Consistently cool, quiet weather this week
Aside from a few flurries and sprinkles Tuesday, New Jersey is looking at a dry forecast through the upcoming weekend.
Monday NJ weather: Early drizzle and flurries, then breaks of sun
Consistently chilly temperatures and generally quiet weather are expected this week.
Winter Weather Advisory: Sloppy travel Sunday, due to rain and some ice/snow
For the fourth time this holiday season, New Jersey's weather will turn rather unpleasant, mainly wet, and somewhat wintry on Sunday.
NJ weather: One mild day Saturday, then rain/snow return Sunday
Slippery travel conditions and light snow accumulations are still expected by the end of the weekend.
