A caller and myself discussed having drones deliver alcohol to your home as a way of reducing drunk driving fatalities, when Kira uncovered that Southern Comfort is working on a door-to-door service of a similar description.

According to the beverage company's website, they've spent the last four years designing a drone that will carry SoCo to homes in key cities across the United States. The program is in beta mode while they research which areas to serve, but a map illustrating areas of consumer interest includes locations like the Jersey Shore and Rutgers New Brunswick.

This service would make it easier to enjoy a drink without leaving the house, but it may also present another avenue for underage drinkers to access booze. It's hard to tell whether it would reduce the number of drunk driving accounts too.

Do you think a drone delivery service for alcohol is a good idea? Let us know in our poll and feel free to elaborate in the comments section below!
