Americans are a stressed out bunch! The American Psychological Association's most recent Stress in America survey revealed that Americans' stress level is the highest it's been in 10 years. And we're not just stressed about work, finances or personal health. The survey showed that Americans are also stressed about the country's political climate, terrorism, and gun violence.

And stress doesn't just impact your mental health, it can also have a huge impact on your physical health as well. Some of the warning signs, according to the American Psychological Association, include:

  • Chest pains
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Muscle tension
  • Headaches
  • Overeating or loss of appetite

If this sounds like you, a few deep breaths might help! Other things that people do to beat stress, according to the survey, include exercising, watching television, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Find more tips for coping with stress here.
