MIDDLETOWN — Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed three homes in the Shadow Lake Village Adult Community Saturday.
An 82-year old man suffered second- and third-degree burns to his head, hands, and face in the fire, which broke out around 4 p.m.
The victim, whose name hasn't been released yet, was flown by helicopter to the burn center at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston for medical attention and treatment.
Three residences inside the community were destroyed as a result of the blaze, in which the second floor was fully engulfed.
No other injuries are being reported but the cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities say.
