Friendly, familiar beacons on the Garden State's highways, byways and downtown business districts, diners play an important role in New Jersey's culture and community life, and serve as the ultimate egalitarian dining experience. Gabriele's book gathers important pieces of the historical puzzle (people, events, places, dates, facts and figures) and assembles them into a cohesive narrative that traces New Jersey's diner history. Along with tales of noteworthy diners of the past and present, the book pays tribute to New Jersey as the diner manufacturing capital of the world during the 20th century. 7 - 8:30 pm.

Started as a humbling event for grassroots enthusiasts in a small parking garage in 2009 in San Francisco, our event has now reached its eight year serving the community. Wekfest focuses on working with the leading brands and individuals both within the car community and various sub-cultures to bring an event to the East Coast that is one to remember. Wekfest follows a tradition of making each exhibiting car and vendor its focal point, not to be overshadowed by other theatrics. Learn about New Jersey history by taking a Morris Canal guided walking tour provided by the Canal Society of NJ and visit the newly restored Lock 2 East. Experience life on the Canal first hand by traveling down the waterway on a free boat ride or prove your prowess by paddling a kayak. Learn about local and exotic wildlife. Experience the art of blacksmithing, visit a civil war encampment or lay back and enjoy listening to over 10 of New Jersey's best musical performers. End the day with a fantastic fireworks display.
