Wrong Way SUV Kills Father In Hamilton

A wrong way driver on Route 29 in Hamilton early Sunday morning struck a mini-van and killed a father.

WPVI TV reports Manuel Vazquez Gutirrez was driving a Dodge Durango south in the northbound lanes of Route 29 near Route 129 when he hit the mini van driven by 28-year-old Jorge Deleon head on. Deleon’s two children were inside the mini-van and suffered minor injuries.

Deleon was taken to a hospital where he died. Gutirrez is hospitalized in serious condition.

Interstate 195 was closed to traffic eastbound at I-295 for several hours on Sunday morning as police conducted an investigation. No charges have yet been filed.
