Some insurance companies are reportedly dropping their customers who own dangerous breeds of dog. This KENS5.com story doesn't say who is doing this or even if it is on the rise, but it does point out that dog bites account for about a third of all homeowners' liability claims, costing the insurance industry almost $490 million a year.

So if you own a pit bull, rottweiler, German shepherd or other breeds classified by others as dangerous, would you be willing to go without home insurance to keep your dog?
