The town of Penns Grove wants to do something similar to Wildwood, where saggy pants would be banned but this time, with harsher penalties, up to $1,000 for repeat offenders. According to the ordinance, clothing that is considered offensive, indecent, or unsafe includes garments worn below the hips. Waistbands of shorts, pants or skirts shall not be worn more than three inches below the waist, the ordinance reads.

The ordinance would also give the local police the ability to request compliance to alter their clothes immediately and to exit the public street, road or property.

Is this something that you think is necessary or do you think it is going too far and putting the police in a bad position?

Take our poll below and let us know what you think about this ordinance.
