Police are trying to identify a woman whose body was found in a Hamilton park on Tuesday morning.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri in a statement said the body of a white woman believed  to be approximately 40 years old was found in a weeded area of Roebling Park off Sewell Street around 9:10 a.m.

The park is located off Route 206, not far from the interchange between Interstates 195 and 295.

An autopsy will be performed on Tuesday afternoo,  but Onofri said the death appears to be by homicide.
