JERSEY CITY — Talika Lesaine of Newark drove for more than two miles with a woman on her hood holding on to a windshield wiper after she had been struck according to police.

The Jersey Journal reported that Lesaine, 30, struck the woman at Communipaw Avenue and Route 440 in Jersey City on Oct. 29 with her Honda and drove off, according to police.

But police said the woman grabbed onto a windshield wiper. Eventually, police said, Lesaine hit the brakes, causing the woman to be thrown from the car.

The woman, whose identity was not disclosed by police, was able to give police the license plate number of the car and pick out Lesaine from police photos, according to the report.

Lasaine was charged with aggravated assault and using her car as a weapon on Wednesday. She was held at the Hudson County Jail pending $30,000 bail and will appear in court on January.
