Woman Struck and Killed By NJ Transit Bus
Authorities say a woman was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit bus in northern New Jersey.
Katherine Carter, a spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's office, says Josefa Cisallina of Orange was struck by an eastbound bus around 6 a.m. Monday. The accident occurred in the area of Springfield Avenue and New Street in Irvington.
The 45-year-old woman was taken to a hospital, where she died a short time later. Further information on her injuries were not immediately disclosed.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
The prosecutor's office and Irvington police are heading the investigation.
