Results of an autopsy on the body of Pamela Davis, the Newark woman whose body was reportedly found decapitated and wrapped in a blanket not far from her home, could help determine how she was killed.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday to determine  a cause of death for Davis, whose family had reported her missing on Oct. 30, according to CBS New York A report of a bad odor led police to Davis in a garage.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has not released additional details about Davis' death and would not comment on reports the body was decapitated. Multiple news agencies reported Tuesday on the decapitation, citing unnamed sources close to the investigation.

From the reports by CBS and others, it wasn't immediately clear whether Davis was decapitated after her death, or whether that's what killed her.
