Woman Pleads Guilty in Deadly DWI Cash

TOMS RIVER (AP) — An Ocean County woman has admitted she was driving drunk when she caused a fatal accident last year.

Ocean County prosecutors say 61-year-old Deborah Tadych of Brick pleaded guilty Monday to vehicular homicide. They will seek an eight-year state prison term when she's sentenced Aug. 29.

Authorities say the December 2012 crash occurred in Brick.

Two other drivers were able to avoid Tadych, who was driving southbound in the northbound lane on Herbertsville Road, without headlights. But she eventually collided with a vehicle driven by 65-year-old Susan Steeper of Brick.

Steeper was extricated from her car and taken to a hospital, where she died a short time later.
