Woman fatally shot in parking lot of New Jersey business

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a woman has died after she was shot in the parking lot of a central New Jersey business.

But it's not yet known what sparked the shooting in South Brunswick.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey says 24-year-old Alicia Martinez-Izaguirr, of New Brunswick, was approached around 7 a.m. Wednesday by a suspect who shot her and then fled on foot.

Authorities said it wasn't initially clear that the victim had been shot, but that was confirmed by an autopsy.

It wasn't immediately known if Martinez-Izaguirr worked at the business where the shooting occurred or if she had any connections to the firm. No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
