MEDFORD TOWNSHIP (AP) — Authorities say a promoter sold dozens of tickets for a purported Sheryl Crow concert in South Jersey, even though she knew the artist wouldn't be performing at the show.

Kelly Bryan, of Burlington Township, faces charges of theft by deception and deceptive business practice. Her bail was set at $100,000 and it wasn't known if she has retained an attorney.

The charges stem from an investigation that began earlier this month, when authorities learned about the concert that KBR Promotions allegedly was staging at a Medford Township venue.

Due to the size of the event, authorities contacted venue representatives to discuss security plans for the show. But several issues soon arose that raised suspicions, and authorities eventually determined that Crow wasn't booked to perform at the event.
