Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D) says he has reviewed 900 pages of subpoenaed documents and cannot find any traffic-related explanation for lane closures at the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee last September.

The Sayreville  assemblyman told The Record that the records he received from The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey suggest that someone outside the agency initiated the traffic study that caused backups in Fort Lee for four days in September.

He has not disclosed the documents and did not return calls to the Associated Press Thursday.

The Democrat is looking at whether the backups were created as payback for the Fort Lee mayor who declined to endorse Republican Gov. Chris Christie for re-election.
