If Jameis Winston needed any more validation of his decision to play two major college sports, the Heisman Trophy winner from Florida State is getting it from Archie Manning.

Winston has spent Monday in New Orleans to accept the Manning Award as the nation's top college quarterback.

Manning says he loved playing both baseball and football at Mississippi and admires Winston for playing both sports as well.

Winston says playing two sports keeps him busy, and he likes it that way.

Winston is expected to rejoin the Seminoles baseball team for an exhibition game against the New York Yankees in Tampa on Tuesday.

He says he and his teammates are "elated" to be playing the Yankees and that he is looking forward to meeting Derek Jeter.
