Wildwood, Ocean City Boardwalks Get Surveillance Cams

A project that began in 2012 is now complete, with a video security system in place on the boardwalks in Ocean City and Wildwood.

The Wildwood Boardwalk coverage runs from Convention Hall to North Wildwood, which is already equipped with surveillance. Ocean City's system was enhanced for this summer.

According to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, police and elected officials across the nation are pointing to the Boston Marathon bombings as a reason to get more electronic eyes on the streets.

The county is currently working to install video systems in Avalon and Cape May, along the boardwalk and promenade areas. Systems are already in place in Sea Isle City.
