Thieves are able to hack over 25% of PINs within twenty attempts because all too often, people pick easily guessed digits.  1234 is the most popular PIN, followed by 1111, according to DataGenetics.

Experts advise people to avoid using numbers that are significant to them, like birthdays.  Instead, use random numbers that don't have any meaning to you.  While they're harder to remember, they're also harder to hack.  According to DataGenetics, the least used PIN is 8068.
