It maddens me to read the story about Ericka Puglisi, the waitress in Atlantic City, who decided to sue her workplace, the Tipsy Taco, and her boss for lewd comments and sexual innuendo or what some people would call "sexual harassment."

I have always believed that the term sexual harassment was a construct of the legal community. And as I've stated many times on the program, sexual harassment is a tool used by the legal community to extort millions and millions of dollars from corporate America every day.

But even worse than that it is antithetical to the women's movement. So if you are a woman, and you claim sexual-harassment, you are actually living by the philosophy that women are the weaker sex and need protection from big male bullies in the workplace.

True women's empowerment starts with the ability of women to take care of themselves and to do whatever it is they need to do to survive and get ahead. And that means making tough decisions like, perhaps, deciding to ignore lewd comments or maybe even quitting your job.

So like other women before her, Ms. Puglisi is setting the woman's movement back 70 to 75 years. She's adopted a "poor me I'm a damsel in distress" attitude and is asking the system to take care of her, come to her rescue and assuage her bruised self image. Give me a break.

Grow up! You can either ignore it, enjoy it, kick the guy in the you-know-what's or quit and get another job. And not to disparage anyone's career, but I've got an inkling that there are several other server jobs available in the area.
