The quiet of a drive in the middle of the day was shattered for a Rockaway man when a piece of metal went through his windshield on Route 80.

Sylvester Jones told CBS New York he suspects the 10-pound object came off a passing truck as they headed east and is thankful things didn't end differently.

“It could’ve been a heck of a lot worse, so I’m pretty grateful for that,” Jones told the television station.

The object, which Jones can't identify, landed on the passenger side and  looks like a large rusty arrowhead. It sent glass all over the front of his car upon impact and ripped the passenger, seat according to the report.
